Steel piles and sheet piles for quay wall redevelopment in Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands
For the redevelopment of the waterfront in Zwijndrecht, Intra BV supplied the steel materials required for the new quay wall and floating jetty.
We delivered 9 coated mooring piles with a diameter of Ø1220mm with various thicknesses. With a total length of 30 meters each, the mooring piles create a safe docking place for vessels. In addition, another set of 9 coated piles of 30 meters long were supplied for the floating jetty, with a protective coating providing long-term corrosion resistance in the waterfront environment. To complete the structure, Intra BV also supplied around 700 tons of ESZ28-700, ESZ36-700 and ESZ42-700 sheet piles in lengths between 17 and 25 meters, forming a solid and durable new quay wall.
With these deliveries, Intra BV contributed not only to the replacement of the quay wall, but also to the municipality’s ambition to redevelop ‘Zomerlust’ into a sustainable and future-oriented waterfront.
