Steel sheet piles and tubes for the construction of a new bridge nearby Helmond, The Netherlands
To construct a new bridge, our customer had two product requests. The first was the rental of sheet piles, and the second was the purchase of steel tubes. The sheet piles were required to extend the quayside, creating a larger workspace for the bridge installation. Since the extension was temporary, to be removed once the bridge pillars were in place and the waterway restored, renting the sheet piles was a more cost-effective option for our customer than purchasing them. We supplied hot-rolled VL 603 sheet piles with a bituminous water sealant to ensure a watertight wall.
The second request involved purchasing steel tubes. Because of the heavy weight of the concrete bridge, special foundation piles were necessary. These piles reach deep into the load-bearing sand layer, providing a sturdy foundation for the bridge. For this we have delivered 68 tubes, each with a diameter of 457mm.
