Metallizing, also called Scooping, is a very good treatment for an ideal protective layer against corrosion. A scooping layer consists of a zinc-aluminum alloy.
The protection that the zinc-aluminum alloy provides to the Steel is a so-called cathodic protection. This is because the zinc-aluminum alloy sacrifices itself to protect the Steel.
